It isn't technically rated for anything specific, but can be used for all towing purposes, including your weight distribution hitch. There isn't any type of tongue weight being put on the # GY28XR, which is why there isn't a rating.   Hey Dan, congrats on the new Tacoma! When you say different, what do you mean exactly? The Gen-Y # GY28XR you're referring to is for 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" hitches so the new Tacoma could have a 2" x 2" hitch, which is why it doesn't work. If that's the case, then you'd just need the Gen-Y # GY88XR, which is the same thing as the one you tried already - but is just for 2" hitches. If you have already tried The Blue Ox immobilizer # BX88312, I'm afraid I do not have a more effective anti rattle device that I can offer you. The immobilizer is pretty much the best of the best.   That's a good question Mark, and yeah I agree, it would make sense for the screws to be on the bottom when using the Gen-Y Anti-Rattle Clamp for 2-1/2" Hitch Receivers # GY28XR. It'll work either way, but they're on the top mostly for ease of install. The screws on the bottom are just a bit more difficult to maneuver in the install since you won't really be able to see, but by all means if you want the screws on the bottom of the # GY28XR you most certainly can do that.

  Hey Jim, The Gen-Y Anti-Rattle Clamp for 2-1/2" Hitch Receivers # GY28XR uses two M10 x 1.50 x 25MM Hex Flange Bolts. The bolts would likely be enough to hold some weight but the real question is whether or not the walls of the truck bed are going to handle the weight of the ball mount and not just let the # GY28XR rip right out. I would make sure that you're drilling into something thick/solid and use some Loctite # LT1330799 to prevent the bolts from coming loose due to any movement/vibration...
